I'm running automation testing on Windows (windows 10 and 2012), and one of the requirements of the automation is that ALL users need to be logged off. I have a chance to do this after deployment. For most versions of Windows: Log in to the system using an admin-enabled account. Bring up the task manager ('Windows Security' under the Start button if you RDP, 'taskmgr.exe' from the command line, or any other way you prefer.) Go back to the 'Users' tab. You'll see your own session & any other sessions. Here’s a breakdown:quser: Queries for users currently logged in. The first of my solutions does not depend on your Start menu correctly identifying the user.If you want to investigate the user's name not being shown in the Start menu then first search the forum for any existing guidance and then, if necessary, post a question of your own. This was a huge surprise, and I am not happy having this forced or presented without notice, rationale or a way back. Yes, I can see the convenience of having every computer associated with mehaving the same login/signin but opting in should be an individual decision based on all the facts. This has been MS's decision without advising of any facts. No good.At least temporarily, I'd like to undo this, and think this through rather than settle for a fait accompli.
