Here at CSL, we’re itching to get our hands on some, and with an official, and hopefully some big announcements at, we’re putting together a series of articles delving into different aspects of the game. Our looked into the different factions of Bannerlord. This article will take a look into what type of weapons will be available in the game, as well as which factions may have an affinity for them — if any. We’ve combed through hours of videos and read as much as we can, so let’s take a look.MOUNT AND BLADE 2: BANNERLORD WEAPONSMount and Blade 2: Bannerlord, like it’s predecessor Mount and Blade: Warband, will feature a host of different weapons to equip and encounter on the battlefield. Those who are familiar with the Mount and Blade series may recognize many of these weapons, however, in Bannerlord, you’ll encounter even more weapons and with greater variety. You’ll also have the ability to craft and customize melee weapons, which we’ll get into in a different article.Like previous Mount and Blade games, you’ll have 4 weapons slots in your inventory where you’ll be able to equip any weapon you please (as long as you have the stats to equip them). Generally, the weapons in Bannerlord fit into three categories, Melee Weapons, Ranged Weapons, and Shields (which aren’t really weapons but we’ll include them.) BANNERLORD WEAPONS: MELEEFor those of you who like to get down and dirty, who like to smell the sour breath of your enemies while shoving a dagger into their groin or splitting a skull with your axe, you’ll be happy to know Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord features a host of sharpened instruments to help with your endeavors.Mount and Blade: Bannerlord weapons have three different damage types; blunt, pierce, and cut. ![]() Mount & Blade: Warband is a stand alone expansion pack for the game that brought medieval battlefields to life with its realistic mounted combat and detailed fighting system. Graphical overhaul: Support added for HDR, FSAA, depth of field, soft particles, tone mapping, and many other effects; New models with greater detail and high-quality. Pretty straightforward. Your blunt damage comes from weapons like hammers and maces, your piercing damage comes from a blade thrust attack, and cutting damage comes from a bade swing attack. Where cutting damage is very powerful against light armor, piercing damage is more potent against heavy armor, with blunt damage landing somewhere in the middle. So let’s take a look at the weapons. DAGGERSYou’ll have access to daggers in the game, but let’s be honest, who uses them? You can’t block with them, and I’m sure they don’t put out much damage. Perhaps there is some sneaky stuff you can do with them? Like get a annoying Lord alone, perhaps one who owns a castle you have your eye on, and stab him in the back before fleeing into the night undetected. Until I hear otherwise daggers are kinda lame. SWORDSThe bread and butter of Medieval games. There are a litany of swords and sword types in Bannerlord. Swords are faster than most weapons. You can get them in the two-handed variety — which are heavier and deal more damage but need more space to swing around — and the one-handed variety — which pair well with a shield and work wonders in close quarters. Mount And Blade Warband Companion StatsSwords, as well as other weapons in Bannerlord, come with Balanced, Half-Balanced, and Unbalanced affixes. In Warband, balance effected how fast you could switch to a blocking stance or recover from a swing, however, unbalanced weapons are great when it comes to smashing things to bits like shields, castle doors, or your opponents ugly face. Just a few of the many swords we’ve seen in the game include the Arming Sword, Heavy Sword, Light Sword, Empire Shortsword, and the Falx. Like all melee weapons, you’ll also be able to craft your own swords at a blacksmith. How to open a file that is a vpk file. AXESAxes, like swords, come in the one-handed and two-handed varieties. Like the two-handed sword, a two-handed axe deals out a ton of damage, but is unwieldy and difficult to use in close quarters. You need room to swing or your blows won’t do any damage. Some of the axes we’ve seen in the game include the Nordic Axe, the Battanian One Handed Light Axe, the One Handed Heavy Axe, and the Heavy Berserker Axe. From watching Bannerlord gameplay, we’ve come to learn that the Battanians and the Sturgians seem to favor the axe more than other factions. HAMMERS and MACESHammers and Maces seem to be the jack-of-all-trades weapon of the game. The blunt damage is suitable for all types of armor; however, they don’t excel at any one type of damage. Some of the blunt instruments we’ve seen in-game include the Military Hammer and the Mace. POLEARMSHardcore Warband players know the polearm is a devastating instrument on the battlefield. Especially on a horse where you have power and speed behind your attack. Polearms have a lot of reach and include weapons such as Spears, Lances, Pikes, and Bardiches. These weapons are not only strong on horseback, but they’re also strong against cavalry. Where the polearm fails is in single combat, as they’re more suited for a charge attack than for swinging around. Take note that large polearms, such as pikes, will drop to the ground if you switch to a side-arm. We know the Vladians and the Empire specialize in deadly lance-wielding cavalry. Some polearms we’ve seen in the game include the Heavy Lance, the Steppe Lance, the War Spear, and the Cavalry Spear. FARM TOOLSFarm tools aren’t perfect for battle, but sometimes it’s all you’ve got. Especially if you’re an NPC farmer fighting off bandits. The average player won’t equip these, but if you were so inclined, you could technically ride into battle wielding a pitchfork. You can read more about melee weapons over at the.BANNERLORD WEAPONS: RANGEDFor those of you who prefer to attack your foes from afar, Bannerlord features a host of ranged weapons to rain death from a distance. THROWING KNIVESKnives in Bannerlord can be toggled from melee mode to throwing mode with a click of the keyboard. You can’t block with a knife, but throwing one is suitable for finishing off a weak fleeing opponent. THROWING AXESMore powerful than a throwing knife, Axes can also be toggled from throwing to melee. Although some axes, such as the Francisca, can only be thrown. If you can land them, throwing axes deal devastating damage and are great for taking down opponents shields. The downside is they’re pretty inaccurate. But what fun! JAVELINSLike in Warband, Javelins are incredibly deadly; however, they’re slow and laborious to use. Like throwing axes, they’re great at destroying shields. We know the Empire skirmisher units love to use them, and the Aserai Camel Calvery wield them with great accuracy. According to TaleWorlds, there will be a large variety of Javelins to use in the game. BOWSWhile swords may be the bread and butter of the melee world, bows hold that position in ranged warfare. While venturing out in Calradia, you’ll encounter a large variety of shortbows, longbows, and recurve bows. Longbows are slow to reload, but have long range and deal heavy damage. Recurve bows have high projectile speeds, but a slower reload time, whereas shortbows have a fast reload time with lower projectile speeds. Mount And Blade Starting ChoicesWe know the Battanians have an affinity for the longbowman, and that the Khuzait specialize in Cavalry Archers. Some of the bows we’ve seen in the game include the Mountain Hunting Bow, the Ranger’s Short Bow, the Strong Longbow, and the Palatine Composite Bow. CROSSBOWSCrossbows are more powerful and accurate than your standard bow, but they take a long time to reload, and some of them cannot be used on horseback. However, if you want to reign down terror from atop a besieged castle wall — the crossbow is your crutch. Give ’em hell. Cara flash iphone offline. ROCKSLike farm tools, rocks are the ranged weapons of peasants. Laughable at first, try being on the receiving end of twenty angry farmers wielding stones. Not so fun.You can read more about ranged weapons over at theSHIELDSBannerlord will feature shields of all shapes and sizes, from small round cavalry shields to full body kite shields. Some of the shields we’ve seen in the game include the Small Flat Heater Shield, the Tall Heater Shield, the Western Riders Kite Shield, and Round Shields. We’ll be sure to update this article as we get more information.
